Advice for parents

Your children will be learning to ski with ESF Morzine instructors. Becoming a champion by the end of their week with us needn't be the sole aim!

From the age of 3, the Piou Piou Club offers a gentle introduction to the snow (sledging, snowshoes, skiing...) in a special environment.

For your children to enjoy themselves to the full, we recommend:

  • gathering all the information you can from our staff when you book as well as from our assistants and instructors
  • not pushing a child to ski who does not want to but rather encouraging them to try an introductory lesson at the beginning of the week (Sunday or Monday)
  • correctly stating your child's age (not doing so may lead to their exclusion)
  • equipping them with warm clothing: hat, mittens, sunglasses or goggles, handkerchiefs, sun cream and snacks
  • ensuring your child has their lesson card, lift pass (for over-5s) and your contact details
  • sticking to meeting times and rendezvous points
  • not following or calling out to your child during lessons
  • encouraging your child to ask to go to the toilet whenever necessary
  • leaving instructors to decide when to move your child up a level; they are trained to know when is right for your child. You can trust their experience end professionalism
  • Helmets are recommended and snowboard-specific protection gear is obligatory
